>> STOP PRESS >>

Hi bloggers,

We regret to inform you that, due to a recent major accident, the msC2C fundraiser 2007 has been postponed.

Unfortunately, Jeremy broke two ribs recently and has been advised by medical practitioners and nurses that he cannot train for the event without causing further damage. Rest has been advised.

Rest assured Jeremy's ribs are healing well and, assuming he avoids further injury, will be safe to cycle by the end of September 2007.

In an attempt to salvage the msC2C fundraising effort, the team are keen to re-schedule the cycle ride for August 2008 - a date has not been set yet, but details will be posted as soon as they are available.

We apologise for the failure of this event and Jeremy will certainly refrain from climbing ladders in the future. In order to make up for these recent events, plans are being put in place to raise the £10,000 target - at least we have a year to make it happen!

Thank you to our followers for the support and very kind words. We WILL NOT be giving up on The MSRC and will be working hard all year to raise money for the very deserving charity.

Kind Regards,

The msC2C Fundraising Team.

Postbad News (Issue 9)

Wow what a morning! Two letters, one parcel, hmmmmmmmmm!!

YES:

- Vivitar UK: These wonderful (and extremely generous) people sent us a Vivitar Vivicam 4345 digital camera for use on our journey,

NO:

- British Airways plc: Already support 'a charity'.
- The Independant (newspaper): way too busy, no space to fit our event anywhere in their paper... ever...

COMMENT:

Im upset about the constant NO's we are receiving, but I cant remain upset following the amazing generosity of VIVITAR!! THANK YOU!!!

Vivitar UK did a bold thing, setting themselves apart from the others and just sending a digital camera without question - it was a lovely gesture, I cant thank them enough!

The camera is PERFECT for our three-day journey, light weight, small and ery effective! Watch out for the snaps ;-)

THANK YOU VIVITAR!

Postbad News (Issue 8)

Well, the gaps between receiving letters is growing rapidly. Only one today (and this is from a newly designed 'second' batch sent to new recipients)...

YES:

[NONE]

NO:

- Gillingham Football Club plc: already support a charity...

COMMENT:

Well it is upsetting. If only they knew how I spend even my food money to ensure the letters get sent. It is also upsetting because this is a response to the second batch, which means some 200 or so letters from the first batch have not even had replies.

Alarmingly, I am slowly getting used to the idea of not getting ANY support, which means it comes out of my pocket.... chivalry ;-)

Postbag News (Issue 7)

Hmmmmmmmmm, very depressing! Two letters but, as per usual, very disappointing!

YES:

[NONE]

NO:

- Home Retail Group plc (aka Argos/Homebase): "Our policy... is not to support general requests for donations..." - and all because they support 'a charity'....
- The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (RBS): our staff already raise money for charity. Just to rub it in, here's a brochure showing who they have helped ;-)

COMMENT:

Well it was expected!! If YOU know a business or organisation that will be willing to help us on our way, please e-mail: jeremy@msc2c.co.uk - we need to find £3,000 worth of equipment and the like, so NEED help! Thanks!
