Bad News...

Greetings Parishioners,

Jeremy appears to have taken a turn for the worst. I fear that his cracking injury (no pun intended) may mean that he won't be able to take part in the ride. And if he doesn't cycle - I doesn't cycle either.

*SIGH*

And I'd just got into my training too! I've got an eighteen-mile round trip, which conveniently takes me past my girlfriend's house, which I've been doing twice a week - I feel fitter than ever, haha!

I'll keep you posted on how I get on, and whether or not msC2C will have to wait until 2008... Oh, and by the way, I fixed something on my phone, which means that the SportsDo application runs perfectly! See where I've been, here!

God Bless.

I'm back y'all

Greetings parishioners!

Yes I am back, and actually losing the will to write these blogs. But, I shall press on. After I sorted the problem with the internet, you'll see we have loads of nice press pictures on here, which is very nice.

I've been testing a little bit of GPS software, which will hopefully let you know where we are on our journey, but I'm giving up, because quite frankly, it's pisspoor.

I did have more to say when I started this, but I've forgotten it, so, woops! I basically wanted to let you all know I'm still alive.

God Bless.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder

...apparently.

Yes, parishioners - your Rt. Rev is still here. However, I must point out that you should remain behind the virtual cordon I have set up, as any closer, you could be susceptible to infection by acute viral nasopharyngitis gillinghamis upperis, or 'the Upper Gillingham Cold'.

After battling through a chest infection, I was delighted to be re-infected (no names mentioned), and I have just managed to stem the constant nasal mopping, and laryngal sputum.

Anyway, some good news. Many of you will have noticed the recent addition of SMS donations. Yes, that was my work. But vast improvements have been made since then. Want to try it out? Great! Text msc2c to 84767 (£3/text, contact Ralph for support) - it really is that simple.

You guessed it - I love technology. So this post is a double whammy. You can also get the latest msC2C news straight to your mobile! For this one, text msc2c to 82820 (15p/text received, text STOP MSC2C to unsubscribe), and we guarantee you'll be satisfied, if not mentally satiated.

Oh and yes, a belated Happy Easter to you all. I must stress I have been under much anguish after seeing the unsanitised crucifixion of Our Lord on Sunday night, in the film 'The Passion of the Christ'.

Forever Yours,

Straight from the salmon's mouth

Ah, the wonders of the internet. I sent a letter to my local MP, regarding concerns over the removal of specialist MS nurses, and here's what he sent me:

"Dear Mr. Allison,

Thank you for your faxed letter via www.writetothem.com, regarding specialist Multiple Sclerosis (MS) nurses and Early Day Motion 387.

I can see that this matter is of great concern to you, and I do sympathise with the spirit of the EDM, however due to my position as a Parliamentary Private Secretary my ability to sign Early Day Motions is somewhat restricted.

I appreciate that specialist MS nurses provide an invaluable service to patients, and many of my constituents welcomed the introduction of these nurses. The Government does recognise that specialist nurses have an important role to play in the care of people with long term conditions, and are valued not just by patients but their families as well. It is not the Government's intention to cause apprehension and changes to services are meant to benefit all patients. The decisions regarding the placement or withdrawal of specialist nurses is a local matter, these decisions are not made centrally. It is to a large extent up to local health authorities to decide where their budget is best spent.

However, in order to follow up on this matter I have written to Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt MP, Secretary of State for Health, outlining your concerns. I have enclosed a copy of this letter for your information and will forward you a copy of her response as soon as I am able.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Clark MP"

And here's what he posted to Pat..

"Dear Patricia,

I write on behalf of my constituent, Mr Ralph Allison of 20 Duncan Road Gillingham, who has contacted me in support of Early Day Motion 387 on specialist Multiple Sclerosis nurses.

I support the spirit of the EDM as I recognise the important of specialist nurses in providing a regular contact for people with MS. Mr Allison is concerned that specialist MS nurse posts will be removed. My constituent feels that this is causing unnecessary stress and anxiety for those with MS and their families.

I am glad that the NHS is evolving to provide services such as specialist nurses.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Clark MP"

Let's hope this gets the wheels a-rolling, eh? And don't forget to visit www.msnurses.co.uk for more updates on the situation.

Easy?

Taking it bloody easy, Jeremy? You must be having a laugh and a half.

Yes, dear readers, I have located myself in the Lake District for a week, but not, as Jeremy may have some readers believe, for fun... 'tis for the University, and I am partly regretting the decision.

Yes, I expected some work, but none of us expected the sheer amount which has been burdening us. I have just managed to get up to date, but I still doubt I will get an hour spare to go cycling... sigh.

And if I have to do any more urban studies, I'm going to hit someone...

With love, as always,

- Ralph
P.S. Back Sunday...
